Otakon 2008 Gundam Zeon

I procratinated so we had to rush and slap everything together down to the last minute literally... my skirt is all pinned together and kept falling down >_< Anyway, not too many good pictures and all the group pictures people's faces are blocked, someone is missing, etc etc...

Maxx our secret weapon in the trunk... cut us off will you! say hello to our little friend!!!

I have the greatest urge to put all these pictures together with
thought bubbles to make a story ^-^ (if you can think of a caption
or thought bubbles for any of these let me know and I'll add them)

Is the Srg. arguing with himself again? an evil twin? his future counterpart from one hour later
comming back to warn him he's going to need to order another Guinness!? Oh what could it be!?

I left the red in maxx's eyes because it looked awesome to me lol

And one of mike's pictures for a group shot since I didn't get one
(see the skirt should be about 5 inches higher >_< )

Castle Boldt Round 2

Our second trip and I could still go back! Next time we go Mrs. Boldt's room should be done, we could see a bit through the door cracks and it's really looking great!

Castle exterior

most of my shots had to be taken from the windows which were dirty and scratched up like this one...

The steam boat house

the "play" house that is as big as a real house. I got a picture of the bowling alley this time.

More carved wood!

Dining Room was finished though we all agreed the floor they used to replace the original doesn't match well.

The Ballroom

Flowers!

Sorry it's so long ^-^

These are flowers from our garden, I tried to take them as they came into season... and my camera was collecting dust...

New silver!

I added a new set of three silver pieces!

Niece update

She's getting so big ::sigh::

Random yard pictures #1

Yard Work

I've been trying to help out with the yard work! For those of you who don't know me well... work, sun, dirt, and bugs... not my thing. But I've been making an effort to help out and perhaps lose some weight in the process. We have about 6 acres of land though quite a bit of it is covered in woods. There are three ponds; the small pond near the drive way, the upper pond, and the big lower pond. The upper pond is connected to the lower by a small stream we built so fresh water can run to the lower pond and since the bed is very shallow the water has a chance to warm before it hits the lower pond so not to stun the fish. The fish are your run of the mill tiny gold fish from any pet store but with so much room and many years they are now koi fish size.

And our resident frog ^-^ we had a bullfrog but he hasn't been seen or heard from in a while...

A while ago a 6 ft tall great blue heron flew over our pond and said mmm a smorgasbord! and he ate quite a few of our fish so we were forced to put a giant net over our pond which was hideous. This year my parents are building a pergola over it with two smaller pergolas on either side. It will be fenced in with a brick patio and vines growing along the top, here's what we have so far...

Yes, like a true goth kid...

I think the funny thing is that while my room looks like the typical Goth kid's room, you will not find any pentagrams and such. I am a Christian and while I was born with an interest in the dark and macabre I often view it as more of a spiritual thing and not so much an obsession with death. I see it more as art.

My dresser looks much like an alter adorned with gargoyles... It will look far less cheap if I ever get around to remodeling my room in the dark wood...heh. But here for you to scoff at is my dresser.

Silver

So I showed you some wood carving I liked at the castle. It goes to suit that I would also love silver work. Filigree and worksmanship, rare these days. When I am depressed it helps me to look at old, well made items. I have anywhere from 60-100 silver items/dishes and I stored them in my hope chest. One day I decided they do me no good in there. It makes me happy to look at them. It's like when you get so excited your heart swells and you miss a breath. So, I wanted to pull them out to some place I can see them. There are too many to just place them here and there so here's what I did...

Special notes-

the last picture is a butter/jam server Joseph bought for me after I fell in love with it at an antique shop. It has beautiful carvings on the dome, stylized flowers on the legs, and deer antlers which would hold the spread knife which is missing but I adore it!

The dried roses in the small clear vase are the first roses Joseph ever gave me. They are about 6 years old.

The long stem roses in the decanter were from Joseph for our one year anniversary.

Room for change

While at the castle we happened to decide we liked the library and we would redecorate my room. Now it originally started out with light yellow walls and soft pastel rainbow curtains and linens... no wonder I hated pastels for so long. Anyway, When I was allowed to redecorate Mother didn't want me using dark colors so she chose light blue with dark blue trim and light wood fake paneling (I hate it)... and we never completed it... so now once we are done in the garden we will begin work on my room so it will be something along the lines of this library with rose/wine walls and dark wood... eh less the fake flowers and ugly chair.

Wind and Energy

Once again while in NY we were driving around and saw the new wind turbines in the distance... of course Father had to spend an hour or two driving around trying to get to them. Happily he succeeded! People complain they do not want them by thier houses because they would be too noisey and ugly, NOT SO! They are whisper silent and really amazing to see I would never think them to be ugly!

Boldt Castle

I want one!

Arc pron for Mike ^-^

The poor rooms are in massive disrepair but efforts to restore them are under way.

I want these in my house!

Wood carvings! I want so much!

This is a massive stained glass dome in the foyer, It was badly damaged I can't recall if they said it was repaired or completely replaced.

This is the power house

and the "play house" that was built for the children... it somehow had a full size two lane bowling alley... of which I sadly did not get pictures of. We were rushed out because of a wedding taking place just out side of the play house.

this is the boat bay with a statue of two deer (harts, the island was called Hart island but was then changed to heart and various hearts are found in the architecture to represent the owners love for his wife) this is just to the right of the play house.

This is an otter that lives under the dock bay, I was shocked to see this little guy swimming along but he is just too cute!

Okay that is all for now ^-^

While we were in NY...

We went to see niagra falls, a butterfly garden, a coal mine, caves, and Hart castle. Let me say this in my new camera taking these pictures and I am amazed at how clear they are... like they are straight out of a magazine... but I know they are far from it.

Niagra oddly looks much smaller in person, at least smaller than tv makes it seem. It is however, breathtaking and the sheer power of the water is astounding.

When you take the ferry up to the falls you can feel the water pushing it even when the engines are on full forward. And yes if you do not wear the raincoats they give you, you will get soaked to the bone.

The Gardens are in walking distance of the falls although a bit of a hike... luckily they have buses ^-^

Look a poison Garden complete with a skull and cross bones sign!

Butterfly Garden

I have far too many pictures of butterflies so I'll try to spare you...

The coal mine was far too dark to take pictures, you've never seen dark until you're about 650 ft. underground. So please excuse the darkness of, and the lack of, the pictures

and this is outside of the mine while we were eating lunch and resting up.

This is my Father and our dog Sadie. She tends to like to lean on you with her entire weight so you can't stop petting her and walk away or she'll fall over...

But she is a beautiful Dog, she's half lab and half retriever and nearly completely white... yeah I wear mostly black and we get a white long haired dog...

Okay the caves I didn't get many pictures

This one is supposed to be a dragon head

and Hart Castle will be a long one so I'll make another post for that.

I did it again...

I've been away far too long again. Let's update with pictures of my niece I went to see.

This is when she first came home, Sadly I was still very sick as you can see around my eyes but this was the last day I was there and I wasn't leaving until I held her.

I do so hate the clothes they put her in... I like pink but that is way too much. I bet she'll grow up to hate both pink and baseball ::evil grin::

This is the camp ground we stayed at the next time we visited.

This is our house, Mother and I got to babysit her while everyone else went to a baseball game.

I'm an Aunt!

I'm an Aunt for the first time. I feel old. It's a girl! her name is Aryana (Are-e-ah-na) Mackayla. She is one of the most perfect looking babies I have ever seen! (I usually think babies are hideous) We nick named her squeeker because she sounds like a squeeky dog toy ^_^  She's 6 1/2 pounds and 11.5 inches long and was born 12:04 am tues dec 5th

Dec. 4th, 2006

Sister in law is having the baby... *sigh* why couldn't they wait until I wasn't sick!? but I suppose it can't be helped. I'll be leaving for NY tomorrow afternoon... and I have to finish sewing the blanket I was making for the baby tonight... I guess insomnia will be working for me today. but I still want to get rid of this cold!

ugh

sick and insomnia...great! >_<!

And so it once more begins.

Yes, the cleaning for thanksgiving that turns out to be cleaning for the purpose of putting up Christmas decorations. It took me all night just to clean up my desk. I changed some things around as this usually helps me feel like the space is new and interesting. I should change the pictures on the desk as well but I haven't enough ink to print new pictures just yet.

Nov. 20th, 2006

I'm not quite sure what time I went to bed but, I woke up around 2 am. So, naturally I decided to clean my room. I started throwing thing out left and right and even put all the smaller cuts of fabric in freezer bags since I don't have anything better to store them in. Oh, what I wouldn't give for one of those plastic bins with all the drawers.

Cleaning my room usually makes me feel like I'm putting my life together so I feel a lot better when I'm done. Tonight all I could think was how terribly unlike me my room is. The paint job that was done while I was in high school was never properly finished. The rug is dirty, stained, faded, and above all a light teal. I definatly hate (and always have hated) the light fake wood panneling. The dresser and bed are white because I was never allowed to paint them any other color, and I just hate the shelves with the built in desk I can't even fit my knees under.

The theory is that I should be out of this house in a year or two but it just feels like I'll be stuck here forever. I wish I could at least have a place to stay that inspires me... but I suppose that could never happen if I'm not allowed to touch anything... after all even if I drape velvet pannels over the walls I still have the unsightly and useless shelves and carpet... what is a poor girl to do?

more pictures

At the computer... I believe that black dot there is a dead ant... they are invading my house >_<

and we have me jumping up onto my chair after being frightened by a huge spider... eh... I didn't draw the chair yet though...

Manga

Pet spider on a leash...

OH NO!

I haven't been writting here much... but I am determined not to fall into the long spaces between writings.

Did a bit more on the outfit I was working on but it's very slow going since it's been rather cold out and I hate working when cold.

I started drawing again and, hey, I don't want to throw out the pictures! this could be a start to something! Actually the pictures are the beginning of my manga.

Feeling more hopeful but still of bouts of questioning my purpose and if I've done the right thing but life goes on and so must I... my biggest problem now is I have several ideas for what I want to do with my life and am not sure which of them to do... or in what order to do them. All and all I'm trying to stay upbeat and active.

as soon as I can ink and scan the pictures I'll add them in here ^-^

Blooming Scissors!

I finished up ironing my 14 or so yards of white cotton material and wound it onto a broom handle to keep the wrinkles to a minimum. I then cut out 4 panels of white cotton needed for a pair of bloomers. Unfortunatly I could not find my propper scissors for cutting fabric so using the pair I did took forever to cut the panels out and it is now getting dark and I hate working by unnatural light in the dinning room, not to mention everyone will be home soon... so the sewing should commence tomorrow. My back is killing me from leaning over that huge table.

Of Mice and Men

Laylaundras, my cat had caught a mouse the other day according to Mother and Father Dearest. This supposed mouse disappeared... and since she hadn't left it somewhere as a gift for me to step on in my bare feet I assumed one of the two cats ate it. I found it. The dog was sniffing the blanket on Mother's chair so I lift it up thinking it was a crumb or such and stick my hand right on a flattened mouse carcass. fun.

Feelings of Old

I feel like an old lady >_

Feelings of ugh.

Had a really weird dream. Something about "The perverted tea bag of God". No, I can't remember what all of that was about.

I slept later than I had desired to. I don't like my alarm clock since the only radio stations I get are clouded in evil fuzz static of doom. Not pleasant to wake up to.

I went to wash a bit of new black satin material, so I switched on the washer to the light and gentle cycle only to open the lid and see someone had let a load of whites in the washer. I then had to put those back on rinse and spin to get the water out.

And then I check my mail to find a luck of the Irish chain letter. I usually don't mind getting them but feel I shouldn't send them back, sort of like a laugh in the face of bad luck thing... but this one didn't say if you don't you'll get bad luck it said you will get good luck if you do. So, I figured why not I can use the luck. Scrounging up enough e-mails was hard of course so sorry to those of you I did send it to I need the luck! Mike, you escaped because I put the old e-mail adress and the mailer deamon yelled at me.

and that is a long enough post for now.
